reminds me of....

wait, an actual song named youre a jerk. i just so happened to randomly listen to it lasst week.

So. unless you are the original artist of this, you are just copying the song. so im gonna rate bad on my review but dont take it personally it doesnt matter on the review portion anyway.

well...

I didnt hear the first one, but. I would fade the bass back in around 0:40 until around 1:10 or whatever.

But not lfo bass or anything, just steady solid bass that isnt overpowering, but big-time present. Best thing to make the song dramatic would be to have more bass in the parts where the melody is not strong.

Melody is pretty good.

Thanks for the review mate

i like the piano

Almost not dnb, but still nice. The melody flows really well and is interesting from the beginning to the end.

Also nice how its dnb, but with a mellow tune to it. its good.

hmmmm

you need to collab with someone.

you have good ideas for melodies, especially the intros, and use of simplistic instruments. However, the melody frankly pretty much goes to crap when too much happens at once and it sounds like a mess that a person can make after 1-2 years of learning FL studio. Also needs some balance with some things.

But good job on some of it. And congrats on the week top 5!

i agree

im glad youre still around SBB. great stuff. inspires me.

also, great ambient for anything with this mood.

hah

I like this dubstep much better than the other shit that has no melodical structure.

yup

lakaiskate was talking about the sidechaining in the first minute or so. I kinda agree with him.

Otherwise very nice peice. i like it. good work!

haywirehaywire responds:

Oh the sidechaining? I mean that was intentional cause i like sidechaining so either you like it or you dont...
Thanks for the review.

too good

okay, the strings kinda suck. But the plain dnb is better than big-time dnb artists!!!!

so if you work with the melody and flow, that dnb skill you got will blow everyone away. trust me. i love it.

10/10 because the dnb part is like a 15/10.

SteakJohnson responds:

thanks man, ill try an sort these stringys out

its alright

id say maybe listen to some more drum n bass and how a lot of transitions are done. better transitions would sound cool!

i like the melody, but the percussion pattern could use some work. the intro is also kind of un-interesting. maybe add some more hi-hats in there as well.

has good potential. i would come back to this song after you get more practice in!

ranter responds:

Yeah this isn't really my best dnb song, that's "The Chase Ride"
And this is kind of a wrong version i put up and i just noticed that...
I left out some hi hats wich is missed at the beginning.

But thanks for the review!
I can really use the feedback !

Pretty good

only complaint is that the flow of this song tends to get boring. has good transitions and great melody and great feel to it.

it builds up, but then it kinda dies down a little. perhaps could have used another melody to keep it interesting?

overall though it was really good, but gets boring.

I am a Game Programmer/Designer, Web Devolper, and make trance/dnb/techno/ etc. I do use FL studio to make my music. Fav genres: house, dnb, alt rock, dub, techno. GO TO MY GAME SITE!
